This topographical-like ceramic painting explores the beauty of intentional transformation. Originally fractured to accommodate the firing process, the "‘fault line’ of the piece has been meticulously reclaimed with copper leaf and sculpted copper. A rich heat patina creates the appearance of metallic rock emerging from textures reminiscent of brick and snow. The boarder of this work is finished with a subtle green accent to complement the red tones, all housed in an artist made handcrafted cherry wood frame.
